a TAMM creation - Yellow Girl Frog Earrings

Yellow Girl Frog Earrings

These are cute, lightweight, acrylic yellow girl frog earrings. They are on silver post studs, with two sets of backs, a regular set and a disc set.

The Frogs measures 3/4 inch across and 3/4 inches in height. They are lightweight, so they will not pull on your earlobes, even at this size. They are large enough that they cover the earlobes and look nice.

Making earrings are my new favorite stress-reliever! My daughter loves to have lots of earrings and so do I, so this has been fun for us, being able to make things that we find fun, cute and pretty. Passing along those same items to you!

Do You Bake? - NATIONAL CHOCOLATE SOUFFLE DAY

NATIONAL CHOCOLATE SOUFFLE DAY

A delightfully delicious dessert is observed each year on February 28th as it is National Chocolate Souffle Day.
The word souffle is the past participle of the French verb souffler, which means “to blow up” or more loosely “puff up”, which describes a souffle perfectly.  A souffle is a lightly baked cake made with egg yolks and beaten egg whites that are combined with various other ingredients.  Souffle can be found served as a savory main dish or sweetened as a dessert.
There are two basic components that make up every souffle.
1.  a French creme patisserie base/flavored cream sauce or puree
2.  egg whites beaten to a  soft peak meringue
The flavor is provided by the base and the “lift” is provided by the beaten egg whites.  A variety of cheeses, jams, fruits or chocolates can be baked into the base of the souffle.  Many souffle bakers like to puncture the top of the souffle after it is removed from the oven, and pour mouth watering sauces onto it, such as chocolate, vanilla or for a savory flavor cheese and herbs.

a TAMM creation - Migraine No-More c

https://www.etsy.com/listing/269966377/migraine-no-more-essential-oil-roll-on?ref=shop_home_active_1

Look what arrived in the a TAMM creation etsy store today!!

Migraine No-More Essential Oil Blend Roll-On has been blended especially to help alleviate those stubborn, hard to get rid of migraine headaches. It is “stronger” than Pain No-More, and formulated specifically for headaches.

As someone who suffers from Chronic Migraines, I have always been looking for relief, and I have tried a number of essential oil blends out there. After researching and studying, mixing and testing myself, I have finally come up with a blend that I like the best. It takes the best from the blends I have tried, along with those essential oils best suited for headaches and blends them to make a roll-on that helps better than any other I have tried.

Roll-Ons come in a 10ml blue glass bottle.

All my blends are made in Fractionated Coconut Oil, as this is a great carrier oil with no color or scent, and a very long shelf life. I find it doesn’t effect the blend the way other carrier oils can.

For Migraine No-More, I have blended Peppermint, Basil, Grapefruit and Ginger Essential Oils. Each selected for their best properties. By blending these in a select ratio, I have come up with what I like the best.

INGREDIENTS:
Basil - is known to stimulate circulation and aid in relaxation

Peppermint - is known as a pain reliever, it is also said to reduce stress.

Grapefruit - is known as a headache reducer, plus it is said to help clear mental fog

Ginger - is a known anti-inflammatory, given world-wide for aches, pains and nausea of all types.

Fractionated Coconut Oil is also a great carrier for essential oils. It readily absorbs to soothe dry skin making it the ideal oil for topical applications. It has natural antioxidant and disinfecting properties and does not clog pores. . Unlike Other Unrefined Carrier Oils Fractionated Coconut Oil Will Not Go Rancid And Is Extremely Stable. It won't become solid like regular coconut oil but keeps all the great properties we love about coconut oil!

Fractionated Coconut Oil is a super purified MCT coconut oil from which almost all the long chain triglycerides, and any impurities, are removed, thus leaving mainly the medium chain triglycerides creating the perfect MCT oil.

a TAMM creation - Coming home again, Welcome Back!!

a TAMM creation

For awhile now I have NOT focused on my own creations.  Mostly because I got divorced and moved! That was a huge upheaval in my life after 21 years of marriage, but it was so worth it!

I have always used my crafts as a way to relax and manage stress, and after the mess of the divorce, I had a lot I needed to manage.  You also should realize that my ex wasn't real supportive of my craft business.  Come to think of it, he was real support of my direct sales business or even my writing. So in a number of ways, I was extremely shy about my crafts again.

As is always the case for me, my daughter asked for something that couldn't be found! This time is was a hippo necklace or earrings or something for her Show Choir Secret Buddy (I can write this now because she gave them to her awhile back).  Every time I have started creating something that goes into the a TAMM creation line, it is because a daughter asked.  So I got creative, made a cute pair of hippo earrings. Then with the support of my family, I started posting them in my shop again.

This time around I have more support, my kids think its great and there is a pretty awesome guy in my life who supports and encourages me in every thing!!

So, now that I am back to working on a TAMM creation, along with everything else, you can plan on seeing more blog posts about it and what is going on!!

There is a Facebook Page for a TAMM creation:

Do You Bake? - National Pistachio Day

NATIONAL PISTACHIO DAY

February 26th recognizes all things pistachio. It’s National Pistachio Day! It is a day that has been set aside for all pistachio lovers to eat their favorite nut all day long. For those who do not eat pistachios, buy some and give them to someone who does. Crack them open and eat them up or enjoy them in ice cream or your favorite pistachio dessert!

Pistachios arrived in the United States sometime in the 1880s but they have been cultivated in the Middle East since Biblical times.
The pistachio tree grows to about 20 feet tall needing little or no rain and must have high heat. In Iran, they claim they have pistachio trees still living that are 700 years old! A new tree takes between 7 and 10 years to mature and bear fruit.
Pistachio Facts:
All pistachio shells are naturally beige in color. Some companies dye nuts red or green if nuts are inferior or for consumer demand.
California produces about 300 million pounds of pistachios each year, accounting for 98 percent of America’s production.
Pistachio shells typically split naturally when ripe.
The kernels are often eaten whole, either fresh or roasted and either salted or unsalted.
In the Middle East people call the pistachio the smiling nut.
In China people call the pistachio the happy nut.

Do You Bake? - Non-Dairy Butter Substitutes for Cooking and Baking

What to do if your recipe calls for BUTTER but you need a NON-Dairy solution:

Dairy-Free Margarine
Most non-dairy margarines work well in baking, cooking, and/or as spreads. Several non-hydrogenated brands are listed within our product lists, such as Earth Balance / Smart Balance, Melt
While margarine can substitute butter in a one for one ratio, it is most often noted that you may reduce the amount of vegetable shortening by up to 1/4 cup for every 1 cup of butter that a recipe calls for. However, I have successfully used as little as 1/2 the amount called for on many occasions.
Cooking or Baking Oils
Oil is the most used butter replacement in my household. This can take some experimentation, but oil can be utilized for butter, even in baking. Obviously oil will work great anywhere butter is called for in sautéing or roasting. However, in baking much less oil is typically required, as it will yield a somewhat “oily” product if you use a 1:1 ratio. As a fat equivalent, they say that 7/8 cup vegetable oil equals 1 cup of butter. I don’t typically agree with this. I use 3/4 the amount or less.
My popular butter-free chocolate chip cookies use 1/2 cup of extra light olive oil rather than the 1 cup of butter called for in equivalent recipes. The results are gobbled up quickly and with many smiles. If a recipe specifically calls for melted butter, then you can replace it with the equivalent amount of oil.
Fruit Purees for Baking
Blend up that apple pulp or a handful of prunes and you have an excellent, healthy way to substitute butter when baking sweets and quick breads. In fact, pureed bananas, pineapple, and pears also give an excellent “fat” consistency to recipes with an added jolt of health and flavor. We have a few tips to help maximize your results:
Because the fruit will add more sweetness than butter, reduce the sugar in your recipes a touch.
Think of the flavor of your recipe to judge which fruit flavor will work best. For example, prune puree works particularly well in chocolate desserts, such as brownies; and pineapple can add a tropical flair to most quick breads.
Use 1/2 cup of pureed fruit in place of one cup of butter. You may need to add a tablespoon or two of vegetable shortening or oil back into the recipe to achieve the best results.
If you don’t have fresh fruit on hand, drained applesauce, strained baby food fruit, or a puree of water with any dried fruit (apples, apricots, peaches, etc.) will work in a pinch. See our Prune Puree recipe below for dried fruit help. Or, try a mixture of 1/2 cup applesauce and 1/2 cup vegetable oil as an excellent replacement for butter in cakes and quick breads.

Do You Bake? - National Wine Day

NATIONAL DRINK WINE DAY

While February 18 is observed annually as National Drink Wine Day, it would be a shame to only celebrate one day a year. Perhaps this day is just a reminder to drink wine.
Wine does have its benefits after all. Moderate drinkers of wine have lower risks of liver disease, type II diabetes, certain kinds of cancers, heart attack and stroke. It also can reduce the bad cholesterol (LDL) and increase the good (HDL).

Sass N Frass - Sas'Shay Dead Sea Mud Mask - On sale today

***SALE***
Today you can get this amazing Mud Mask for ONLY $9.00, that's right, I said $9.00. Don't think it's can be that amazing, take a read, see for yourself the thought and research put into the making of this product, then try it for yourself.

Sas'Shay Dead Sea Mud Mask

  1. Detoxifies. The mud’s gentle pulling action helps gently exfoliate the skin and draw out impurities and toxins, so it’s a perfect part of any holistic health detox plan. It’s also great for oily, acne-prone skin.
  2. Increases circulation. Ever noticed how after doing a facial your skin is red? That’s because facials stimulate blood flow and body masks or wraps do the same thing. Circulation helps bring vital nutrients and oxygen to your cells and carry away toxins and wastes — all essential to healthy and normal cell functioning.
  3. Improves the skin. Dead sea mud is high in minerals, such as sodium, chloride, magnesium, potassium, iron, and calcium, so it nourishes the skin. It also naturally softens and moisturizes, so it dramatically improves the appearance and health of your skin leaving it more tone, even in texture, and clearer.
  4. Treats skin conditions. Studies by the Dead Sea Research Center (DSRC), a non-profit organization, have shown Dead Sea mud is useful for treating skin conditions, such as psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, and vitiligo, especially when used in conjunction with adjunct therapies, such as Dead Sea bathing, moisturizing creams, and increased sun exposure.
  5. Relieve aches and pains. Dead sea mud is therapeutic and useful for treating rheumatic conditions, such as rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis. It’s also beneficial for fibromyalgia, tendonitis, bursitis, sports injuries, and recovery from orthopedic surgeries according to the DSRC. It’s even useful for relaxing sore muscles. Therefore, take advantage and use the mud as a pack to treat specific sites if you don’t have time for a full body treatment. Also, combine treatments with soaks in water enriched with Dead Sea salt for maximum results.

Essential oils in our mud mask
         1. Ylang Ylang Essential Oil -   Sensual and exotic ylang ylang is renowned for its aphrodisiac properties and is often used in the name of love! Ylang ylang means 'flower of  flowers'....and that in itself conjures up romance! Ylang ylang has a calming and euphoric effect. This essential oil has a balancing and stimulating effect on skin. It's a great oil  because it can help with over-dry and over-oily skin - it balances the secretion of sebum.
         2. Rose Geranium Essential Oil-  It prevents skin problems like sagging and wrinkling, and helps give your muscles a toned appearance. It can help eliminate the appearance of scars and dark spots by improving blood circulation just below the surface of the skin and promoting an equal distribution of melanin.
         3. Lavender Essential Oil-  Lavender is calming. Restores skin complexion and reduces acne, slows aging with powerful antioxidants and improves eczema and psoriasis
